After Care
There are many things to consider after your treatment. Please take a read through the list below. It is recommended to follow these after care steps for optimal results after your treatments. We advise to take these precautions seriously!
AVOID PICKING
Avoid picking at your skin or using abrasive skincare products like scrubs for at least 72 hours after your treatment. It is normal to experience slight redness after a facial or microneedling, or itching after an extraction. We will apply a light cream to calm your skin and help it heal.
BREAKOUTS HAPPEN
It’s normal to have a breakout in the form of pimple or rash after your facial or microneedling. It’s the skin’s external way to detoxify, ridding itself of toxins and impurities to reveal a more luminous skin.
KEEP SKIN HYDRATED
Proper hydration is key to maximizing the benefits of your treatment. Be sure to drink lots of water afterward. Staying hydrated will prevent dehydration, flush out toxins and leave you with a healthy, glowing complexion.
AVOID MAKEUP, GOING TO THE GYM, SITTING IN SAUNA OR SUN BATHING
For 24 hours, we recommend avoiding putting on makeup or sweating via exercising, sitting in a sauna, or sitting in the sun. Your skin was exposed to plenty of steam during your facial, adding on could lead to irritation and broken capillaries. Hitting the gym, is another no-go: increased heat and sweat can also irritate your freshly exfoliated skin. Sitting in the sun is not recommended, and this is especially true after your facial. After a facial your skin is particularly susceptible to sun damage post treatment.
AVOID WAXING, SHAVING, & LASER TREATMENTS
While it may be convenient booking all your treatments at once, it’s best to spread out your appointments. Most facials involve deep exfoliation with professional peels or enzymes to shed old skin cells and bring new cells to the surface. Having any type of hair removal treatment immediately after runs the risk of over exfoliating and burning your fresh complexion. It is recommended to wait 24 to 48 hours.
AVOID AT HOME PEELS OR RETINOLS
Give your skin a week to heal before using potent at home treatments like peels or retinol based products. Rest assured that your skin will be exfoliated to the max, so focus on nourishing facial oils, rich moisturizers and hydrating masks.
